I am using these iems with a Cayin RU7 and the combination is addictive. I literally spend hours enjoying my music.
I was really surprised how great these IEM’s are. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it is really like hearing your recordings for the first time. The detail and the sound stage are amazing.

Great IEM at a great price
I wanted the Dunu SA6 MKII's originally, but after talking to the guys here I made the switch. I am blown away by the sound quality. Granted I'm used to the KZ Hydro's, and I loved my Dunu Davinci's. With some slight EQ the sub bass is larger and more detailed than any IEM I've used to date. Running these off my Sony ZX707 has been an incredible experience. Metal, house/techno, classical all sound great. It's like I'm hearing my music for the first time. These are so versatile. If I'm in a mood for raw detail and clarity, I can set my 707 to the DSD mode and I feel like I'm in the the same room as the artist. Then if I'm in more of a fun musical mood turning the DSEE setting on with some boost in the low end, these are just awesome. I won't be looking for a new pair of IEM's until these fail. I'm ordering a 3.5 cable to use on my amps at home soon. That's probably my only gripe is only having the 4.4 cable. To each their own. If you have smaller ears like me, don't worry. I went through 3 total different tips and the fit is perfect. I almost forget I'm wearing them sometimes. Believe the hype, as I cannot stress enough how much I love using these daily.

After minor tweaks, I forget I have these on (in a good way). While the cable is way better than most stock cables it was a little thick and a little stiff for my preference. It also took a while to find a comfortable tip. Ended up using a smaller tip (stock, actually) than I usually use. I think the wide bore on these IEM's causes the tips to feel a size bigger in my ear, adding uncomfortable pressure unless I step down a size. Hard to find any faults with the sound, build, or performance. Good all-rounder as others have mentioned. They come awfully close to my open backs that cost twice as much.

I have been in the audiophile space as a hobby for a couple years now, and many moons ago I was a sound guy for various churches and bands I was friends with. Obviously everything is subjective sound wise, but the tuning on these really peaked my interest. I can only say then need a touch more sub bass, but that is all I would change about them. I know they came out with the mega bass version but that might be overkill if you just EQ these correctly.

Great customer service and the IEM is great as well. I prefer a natural, linear sound and this does a good job of replicating that.
Very comfortable fit. Gorgeous cable. Wish there was a bit more for accessories like dunu, considering the price. Very well made. Prefer these to my hype 4 and crinacle x dusk. Comfort wise these are on par with my Aful performer 5s which are one of the most comfortable IEMs for my ears.
They are so damn clear. They love eq and sound so good stock tuned. The cable is well made if a little stiff. I am very happy with the upgrade from kxxs and truthear reds.
The iem’s sound very good, the Headphones company is very poor. Everything associated with the sale, the comfort of the iem’s, and the accessories is bad.

This was my first dive into IEMs and this set is very nice. Music sounds crystal clear with plenty of bass. The soundstage is what surprised me the most. I used to use my pixel buds for ASMR at night, but these blow those away. It has slightly less sound stage compared to my HE1k but these still amaze me for in-ear.
Hisenior Audio Mega5-EST, aka MEGAFEST, is a grandiose upgrade to IEMs below $200, and an okay upgrade to IEMs below $350. It's a 'hard to hate' IEM for how plain it tends to be, though I wish to discuss some pros and cons I have after the two months spent using them. Despite having many cons, it will mostly be the accessories and not the IEM itself, so in the end I'd recommend them still. In the box you get some nice eartips, but no replacement filters. You get a pleasant looking cable, but it's only 4.4mm and thus not modular. Furthermore, the cable is good quality but thick to the point of being excessive in my opinion, and while I don't use the chin slider its too loose and pointless. The earhooks work pretty well, the fit and seal with stock tips is good, and the shell is a comfortable size. So personally as fancy as the cable is I dislike it for the most part, but the IEM itself is good and while the design is simple it's still somewhat pretty. Another gripe is the carrying case. Technically the case is good quality, but it's too bulky for pockets, and to circle your IEM inside with the cable on you must cut out the inner foam walls. As for the sound, is has really good sub bass, pleasant mids and lower upper-mids alongside a similarly pleasant treble region. Slight issue with the upper-mids around the 5750hz area where a hump is present and can sometimes create some harshness in vocals, but for the majority of the time it's pleasant sounding overall. Personally I'd also prefer more mid-bass as well for more thump/kick. That being said, it is balanced/neutral so it tends to lack the energy and excitement you may find in other IEMs. But, the detail and resolution you get is just fantastic- coming from the MP145, where I thought planar drivers were just my ticket to happiness, this IEM has in fact proved that wrong and I'm very thankful for that. To encompass things, my issue is the accessories or price. I personally would replace the cable to something thinner and modular, and the case to something sturdy yet pocketable- meaning the accessories need to get better or price needs to lower. The IEM itself is great if this is the tuning you're after, but if you need a budget pick then go for something like the Timeless II with a Qudelix 5K.
Amazing iems. Genuinely impressed with the presentation. The accessories package that came with the iems as well and the look and quality. I'm no professional, how ever the soundstage. The quality of the sounds I'm hearing for the first time, the tuning, everything for me is amazing. I have heard the bassnote nuances I hear either these before, however I don't believe I've heard all the airy, beautiful upper treble and vocals before. 👌

Been Getting a test warble tone for 3 days .. and then a few hrs listening .. dang if this IEM is for people who have under a grand ..got mine on sale $550 and want BASS … listen to some live recordings ..you can hear fine details … musician’s moving ..rustling of clothing .. lot’s of fun ..really easy to crank the volume on theses iPhone 16 pro max A&K Kann Max as sources These are going to be a classic
I bought these after watching DMS' review, looking at the response curve, and the generally positive feedback in the community about these IEMs. They don't remotely sound good to me and I cannot return them, even if I was going to pay a hefty restocking fee, which I would be willing to pay. I'm not happy. DMS' comment about how they sound better than the Susvaras is absolutely incorrect. I have both, I know the Susvaras very well, and I A-B'd them on the same songs on the same DAC/Amp combo (Chord Qutest/Chord Anni). The Mega3-EST do not sound anywhere close to the Susvaras. The airyness is gone, the dynamics are gone, the detail is gone. Everything that makes the Susvaras awesome is missing from the Mega3-EST. I also A-B'd them against the Truthear x Crinicle Zero:REDs and the REDs sounded better than the Mega3-EST to me for 1/10th the price. I switched out several tips and I tried them on my Chord Mojo2 and the effect is the same - they just sound bad. If the source is super clean and well recorded, they decent (but not better than the REDs), but play a less than perfectly recorded track and they fall apart in a way that my other headphones (Susvara, Focal Clear MG, Sennheiser HD600) and IEMs (RED, Moondrop Blessing2) do not. Do not buy these unless you have fully tested them, even if your only opportunity to hear them is in a loud environment like a CamJam. Do not believe the hype. Listen to your own ears. As for me, my time purchasing from Headphones.com or listening to their reviews has come to an end.
Absolute bliss. No other IEM has made me just coast through so many songs without skipping. Absolutely incredible detail with deep, punchy bass that still catches me by surprise

Many reviews are spot on with this iem. I like the warm sound signature. The sub bass is deep and doesn't muddy the midrange. The treble is not too bright and shrill. It's there but controlled. Vocals sounds great and not boosted in the mix. The soundstage is good but I have heard others with better soundstage, but cost more. I have a few iems and open back headphones with more details but this iem is just smooth without the fatigue. I listen to a range of music, from classical to rock and it sounds great with no EQing. It fits my ears well after trying different ear tips included in the box. I purchased this unseen and based on other reviews. The build quality is spot on in the price range and I can't complain. I am enjoying them more than some other iems I have that cost more. That's saying something.
Pretty, pretty good! I prefer using headphones, just because I find it awkward to put things in my ears. However, these sound amazing and are good for travel.

I bought the Mega5est after hearing them at SoCal CanJam. The nice people at the headphones.com booth put up with me demoing them for two days and testing them against dozens of other sets that were often twice the price. In the end, there was a clarity and sweetness to the midrange that sounded magical compared to everything else I heard under $1200. The friendliness and patience from the good people at headphones.com has made me a loyal customer, and I will continue to buy audio gear from them in the future.

For my daily walk, I use a variety of more modestly priced wired and wireless IEMs. Compared to those, the sound of the Hisenior’s are fuller across the entire frequency spectrum and much less granular. There are no weaknesses at all that my old man ears can discern. I get a good seal using a pair of Spinfit 100+ tips. I do have a number of very high end headphones on hand including the Atrium open and Caldera open phones and the Utopia. I have to agree with DMS in that, when using the Hisenior, I don’t feel like I am missing anything. They are that good. Sam from Headpones.com was very helpful during the presale in answering all my questions and in recommending accessories.

I love these IEMs, I wouldn’t call them end all be all, or better than headphones, but they’re easily some of the best tuned. The bass blew me out of the water on tracks like millennium by OutKast or villuminati by J Cole, where the track draws it out, complete vibration envelopement. I can definitely recommend these, the resolution is amazing and the mids and soundstage are PERFECT, I’ve never heard better on an IEM. Which brings us to the highs, while slightly under-pronounced they’re crisp and enjoyable, and I dare say fun, but I would love a tuning that talks more, in that area. Otherwise, I love them and will be keeping them, hands down my favorite IEM I’ve heard, thus far. I find myself thinking about those mids lol
The sound from the Mega5-EST IEMs is outstanding!! But it took some work to get there. Out of the box, I was disappointed in the sound. Because the White Whale cables don't come with a 2.5mm balanced plug to work with my Qudelix 5K, I borrowed the Tripowin cable from my Moondrop Stellaris IEMs. The sound was OK, but only on par with the Stellaris. I expected better and considered returning the Mega5ESTs. But I wanted to at least hear how they sounded with the White Whale cables. Because the White Whale cables don't come with a 2.5mm plug, I got an adapter from Jiangyi. It was well made but introduced a 'crackle' into the sound that I couldn't tell was coming from the adapter or the cables. So, I ordered another adapter. While I was waiting for the new adapter, the sound of the Mega5-ESTs started to improve dramatically!! Apparently, the Mega5-ESTs benefit greatly from a break-in period! Give them some time to break-in! I also wasn't happy with the eartips that came with the Mega5-ESTs. Other reviews had noted that the sound of the Mega5-ESTs is very dependent upon the eartips used. Because my Stellaris IEMs have a similar driver configuration, I tried the Stellaris' Softears UC eartips on the Mega5-ESTs, and the sound once again improved dramatically! Because of the other reviews, I tried a number of other eartips to hear their effect on the sound. Long story shortened, I found that: Spinfits didn't fit well (tore) over the large Mega5-est nozzle and sound was compressed; Divinis Velvet were OK but lacked the punch and the detail of the Softears; and Azla SednaEarfit sound was uneven with eartip opening being too wide for good frequency response. Since the sound with the Softears UC eartips was outstanding (now way better than the Stellaris), I ordered another set of Softears for the Mega5-ESTs. At this point, I was very pleased with the Mega5-ESTs, and I hadn't even used the White Whale cables! Fortunately, the new cable adapter (from Geekria) totally eliminated the crackle from the White Whale/adapter combination. I was never much of a believer in cables making much of a difference in the sound of IEMs, but to my delight, the White Whale cables further improved the sound of the Mega5-ESTs beyond what was already outstanding! Now the sound from the Mega5-ESTs was outstanding - beyond what I had originally expected or hoped for!! Thanks to April for her help in addressing these issues. I couldn't be happier with the eventual performance of the Mega5-ESTs and the service from Headphones.com. I hope that the solutions I found to the issues I faced help others get as much enjoyment from their Mega5ests as I am now getting from mine.
