The HIFIMAN GoldenWave GA-10 is a full-size tube headphone amplifier created as a 10th-anniversary model and developed to partner with demanding high-end headphones. Its Single-Ended Push-Pull circuit, eight-tube complement, substantial shielded transformer, and dedicated low-noise power regulation give the GA-10 the control needed for large-scale music while preserving the dimensionality and tonal character listeners look for from a tube design.

HIFIMAN positions the GA-10 as a natural match for headphones such as the Susvara Unveiled and HE1000 Unveiled, but its three headphone outputs make it useful across a wider range of systems. Four-pin XLR and 4.4mm balanced connections sit alongside a 6.35mm single-ended output with impedance matching, giving owners flexibility when moving between different headphones and cable configurations.

Single-Ended Push-Pull Tube Architecture

The GA-10 uses a SEPP, or Single-Ended Push-Pull, circuit built around four ECC83/12AX7 tubes and four EL84 output tubes. This architecture is designed to combine the tonal richness and spatial depth of vacuum tubes with the control required to keep complex recordings organized.

Large orchestral passages, layered rock arrangements, and recordings with wide changes in level place significant demands on an amplifier. The GA-10 is engineered to retain separation and composure through those passages, allowing individual instruments to remain distinct while preserving the scale and momentum of the performance.

Eight Carefully Selected Vacuum Tubes

Four ECC83/12AX7 tubes handle the voltage-amplification stages, while four EL84 tubes provide the output section. Both tube types have a long history in high-quality audio circuits and remain widely available, giving the GA-10 a familiar foundation for long-term ownership and future tube replacement.

The tube complement supports a presentation built around clarity, texture, and natural decay. Vocals and acoustic instruments retain body, while the amplifier’s low-noise design helps quieter details emerge without being obscured by hum or background interference.

Shielded 120W Transformer

A specially selected 120W shielded transformer provides the GA-10 with a substantial power foundation. Shielding helps limit electromagnetic interference from reaching the sensitive audio circuitry, while the transformer’s capacity supports stable operation during demanding musical peaks.

The amplifier is rated to deliver 3000mW into 300 ohms and 600mW into 32 ohms at 1kHz. Those figures are supported by a circuit designed around control and clean power delivery rather than headline output alone.

Independent Low-Noise Power Regulation

The left and right channels use independent low-noise voltage-amplifier and stage-regulator circuits. A dedicated low-noise negative-voltage regulator further supports stable operation throughout the amplifier.

Separating and regulating these stages helps reduce unwanted interaction between channels and limits power-supply noise from entering the audio path. The result is a quieter background, stronger channel separation, and clearer placement of instruments within the soundstage.

Balanced and Single-Ended Headphone Outputs

The front panel provides four-pin XLR and 4.4mm balanced headphone outputs, covering the two most common balanced connections used by modern high-end headphones. A 6.35mm single-ended output with impedance matching supports traditional headphone cables and a broader range of loads.

Having all three connections available on the amplifier makes it easier to compare headphones, change cables, or maintain compatibility with an existing collection without relying on additional adapters.
