Description

The Audeze Maxwell 2 ANC brings serious noise cancellation to the planar magnetic gaming headset that set a new standard for wireless sound. Its 90mm drivers deliver the detail, bass extension, and positional accuracy that made the Maxwell platform so widely respected, while a new aviation-grade ANC system cuts through the distractions of shared rooms, travel, tournaments, and busy workspaces.

Available in separate PlayStation and Xbox versions, Maxwell 2 ANC is built for high-level gaming, spatial audio production, music, and everyday listening. Ultra-low-latency wireless audio reaches up to 24-bit/96kHz, an upgraded head-tracking system supports compatible immersive applications, and Audeze’s FILTER AI microphone processing keeps voice communication clear when the environment around you is not.

90mm Planar Drivers with Dedicated Balanced Amplification

Maxwell 2 ANC uses Audeze’s 90mm planar magnetic drivers, which are substantially larger than the dynamic drivers found in most gaming headsets. Their broad diaphragm surface moves with even force, preserving fine detail and separation through dense soundtracks, rapid effects, dialogue, and music.

Audeze’s Fluxor magnet array, Uniforce diaphragm, Fazor phase management, and SLAM acoustic system work together to improve control across the full frequency range. Bass reaches deep and lands with real physical weight, while footsteps, reloads, environmental cues, and voices remain distinct within the mix.

Two dedicated 1.4W amplifiers operate in balanced mode, providing the power and headroom needed for both high-output gaming and quieter low-level detail. The result is a presentation with strong dynamics, clean bass, and the spatial precision expected from Audeze’s planar headphones.

Up to 35dB of Active Noise Cancellation

Maxwell 2 ANC is Audeze’s first headset with active noise cancellation and the first full-range planar magnetic headset built around an ANC system. Audeze rates it for up to 35dB of background-noise reduction, helping suppress room noise, HVAC systems, travel noise, nearby conversations, and the general distractions of competitive gaming environments.

The acoustic tuning was developed to remain consistent when ANC is switched on or off. That means bass balance, vocal placement, treble detail, and positional cues do not shift dramatically when changing listening modes. Transparency Mode is also available when you need to hear someone nearby or stay aware of your surroundings.

Self-Calibrating Head Tracking and Spatial Audio

An integrated head-tracking system adds motion-aware spatial audio without requiring external cameras or tracking hardware. Automatic calibration helps the headset establish and maintain a stable forward position, making setup quicker and improving reliability during longer sessions.

Supported applications include Embody Immerse Gaming Hive for personalized spatial audio across PC games and the Dolby Atmos Renderer for professional immersive-audio production. Maxwell 2 ANC also supports Dolby Atmos and Tempest 3D according to the connected platform and selected headset version.

Clearer Voice Communication with FILTER AI

The detachable hypercardioid boom microphone uses both physical noise control and Audeze’s high-bandwidth FILTER AI processing. Background noise can be reduced directly from the headset, helping your voice remain intelligible around keyboards, fans, room noise, and other distractions.

An internal microphone also supports chat when the boom microphone is removed. This gives Maxwell 2 ANC more flexibility for phone calls, casual voice communication, travel, and everyday listening.

Wireless, Bluetooth, USB, and Analog Connectivity

The included USB-C dongle provides ultra-low-latency wireless audio for gaming, with high-resolution playback up to 24-bit/96kHz. USB-C can also be used for wired digital audio, including dual-audio endpoints and game-chat mixing on supported platforms.

Bluetooth 5.3 supports LDAC, AAC, SBC, LC3, and LC3plus, along with Bluetooth LE Audio, Auracast, and multipoint connectivity. A 3.5mm TRRS connection is included for analog sources and devices where wireless or USB audio is not available.

PlayStation and Xbox Versions

The PlayStation and Xbox versions share the same drivers, active noise cancellation, head tracking, microphone system, wireless performance, comfort design, and core sound quality. The correct version depends primarily on the console you plan to use.

The PlayStation version provides native low-latency wireless support for PlayStation consoles and supports Tempest 3D audio. The Xbox version provides native Xbox wireless compatibility, Xbox game-chat mixing, and includes a Dolby Access license for Dolby Atmos on Xbox and Windows.

Both versions are compatible with Windows and macOS computers, Nintendo Switch 2, iOS, and Android through the appropriate wireless, Bluetooth, USB-C, or analog connection. Both versions can use Dolby Atmos through the Dolby Access app on Windows, although only the Xbox version includes the license.

Comfort for Long Gaming Sessions

A wide, ventilated suspension strap distributes the headset’s 560g weight across a larger area of the head. Aluminum yokes provide a rigid, durable structure, while the redesigned memory foam earpads offer additional internal room and create the seal needed for effective noise cancellation.

The earpads attach magnetically for easy removal and replacement. Magnetic exterior side plates can also be swapped for optional Audeze ReSkin designs, giving the headset a customizable appearance without changing the main earcup structure.

Audeze App Control

The redesigned Audeze app is available for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. It provides quick access to headset settings, EQ, microphone processing, ANC, Transparency Mode, and other controls through a cleaner interface designed around everyday use.

Physical earcup controls remain available for volume, game-chat balance, media playback, microphone functions, and frequently used listening settings, allowing most adjustments to be made without leaving the game.
