Loewe Leo brings the German brand’s luxury design language to a flagship wireless headphone built for serious listening, travel, work, and everyday use. Available in Midnight Blue the leo combines 50mm OCE dynamic drivers, dedicated Texas Instruments amplification, adaptive noise cancellation, personalized sound, modern wireless connectivity, and a modular construction designed for long-term ownership.

Its approach is unusually comprehensive for a premium wireless headphone. The acoustics are built around large 50mm drivers and a Texas Instruments OPA1622 SoundPlus amplifier, while the software layer adds adaptive ANC, Transparency mode, Spatial Audio, Mimi hearing personalization, EQ, low-latency playback, multipoint connectivity, and voice-based smart features through the Loewe leo app.

The result is a headphone designed to sound refined without becoming fussy to live with. It delivers controlled bass, clear treble, strong spatial definition, and the scale expected from a large over-ear design, while memory foam cushions, genuine leather, anodized aluminum, replaceable wear components, and long battery life make it practical enough for daily use.

50mm Drivers with Dedicated Texas Instruments Amplification

At the center of Loewe leo are two 50mm OCE — olefin composite elastomer — drivers. Their large radiating area is designed to deliver a full-range presentation with deep, controlled low frequencies, clean upper-frequency extension, and a broad sense of space.

Loewe pairs those drivers with a Texas Instruments OPA1622 SoundPlus amplifier rather than relying solely on a basic integrated wireless audio stage. The amplifier is designed for low distortion and low noise, giving leo a cleaner foundation for both detailed music listening and more demanding material such as movies, games, and high-resolution recordings.

Loewe describes the overall tuning as detailed, balanced, and powerful, with an emphasis on clarity, depth, and spatial precision rather than exaggerated bass or treble.

Adaptive Noise Cancellation That Responds to Your Surroundings

Loewe leo uses adaptive Active Noise Cancellation that continuously evaluates the surrounding environment and adjusts the level of noise reduction accordingly. That makes it useful across changing environments such as flights, public transit, offices, and busy public spaces without requiring constant manual adjustment.

Transparency mode lets outside sound back in when situational awareness matters, while Adaptive and Ambience controls can be managed through the Loewe leo app. Loewe also designed the system to react intelligently when someone addresses the listener, balancing isolation with awareness when appropriate.

Personal Sound with Mimi Hearing Technologies

Not everyone hears the same way, particularly at different frequencies. Loewe integrates Mimi Hearing Technologies’ Sound Personalization for Headphones so leo can create an individualized listening profile based on a hearing test.

The resulting profile adjusts playback to the listener rather than relying on one universal tuning. Personal Sound works alongside the app’s conventional equalizer, allowing users to choose between predefined settings, custom EQ adjustments, or a hearing-based personalized profile.

Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos Optimization

Loewe leo supports Spatial Audio for compatible sources and is optimized for Dolby Atmos playback. Spatial Audio can expand the presentation beyond conventional left-right stereo, creating a more multidimensional sense of placement for compatible movies, music, and other immersive content.

Listeners who prefer traditional stereo can disable Spatial Audio through the app, making the feature an option rather than a permanent part of leo’s presentation.

Bluetooth 5.3, LE Audio, and Multipoint

Bluetooth 5.3 provides the foundation for leo’s wireless connectivity, with Bluetooth LE Audio support for efficient transmission and modern device compatibility. Supported codecs include SBC, AAC, LC3, and LC3+ according to Loewe’s technical documentation.

Multipoint connectivity allows leo to remain connected to multiple compatible devices, making it easier to move between a phone, tablet, and computer without repeatedly disconnecting and pairing the headphones.

For video and gaming, the Loewe leo app also includes a configurable Low Latency Audio mode designed to improve synchronization between sound and picture.

Wired USB and Analog Listening

Loewe leo is not limited to Bluetooth. USB audio is supported, including high-resolution wired playback up to 24-bit/192kHz, and an included AUX-to-USB-C cable provides an analog wired connection for compatible sources.

This gives leo additional flexibility for desktop systems, laptops, portable players, and other devices where a wired connection is preferred. The integrated microphones are not available while the headphones are being used through the analog cable connection.

A Smart Headphone Without Making the Hardware Secondary

The Loewe leo app adds a substantial set of features beyond basic device settings. Users can control Ambience Mode, Spatial Audio, multipoint connections, EQ, Low Latency Audio, Personal Sound, shortcuts, Fast Mute, Voice Control, and the Loewe leo Assistant from one interface.

The assistant can be activated with “Hey Leo” and is designed to handle voice-driven tasks such as taking notes, organizing ideas, retrieving information, and providing voice-based translation. Loewe’s current platform is enabled through Bragi with OpenAI and is integrated into the leo app rather than replacing the headphone’s conventional controls.

According to Loewe’s April 2026 product information, the headphones currently include five years of access to the AI feature set for end users, after which service can be continued through an optional paid subscription. Service availability and subscription terms may vary or change over time.

Physical Controls with Dual Action Wheels

Despite its extensive app functionality, Loewe leo keeps core controls on the headphone itself. Two finely machined control wheels and dedicated action buttons provide direct access to volume, playback, and configurable functions without requiring a phone for routine operation.

This physical interface is particularly useful while traveling or working, where quick tactile controls are often more convenient than touch panels or app navigation.

Premium Materials Designed for Long-Term Use

Loewe combines anodized aluminum, genuine leather, and memory foam throughout leo’s construction. At approximately 360g, it retains the substantial feel expected from a premium over-ear headphone while its suspension geometry and soft cushions distribute pressure for extended listening.

The ear cushions and headband cushion are replaceable, allowing heavily used contact surfaces to be renewed instead of replacing the entire headphone. The battery can also be replaced through service.

Optional accessory kits allow the magnetic ear cushions and headband cushion to be changed, including a Horizon Bronze set alongside matching Moonlight Beige and Midnight Blue options. Genuine leather will naturally develop wrinkles and tonal changes through regular use, giving the material a more individual appearance over time.

Up to 65 Hours of Battery Life

Loewe leo is built for long listening sessions and extended travel. Battery life reaches approximately 45 hours with Active Noise Cancellation enabled and up to 65 hours with ANC switched off.

A full charge typically takes around two hours, and the headphones can continue operating while connected to power. IP53 protection also provides resistance against limited dust ingress and water spray, adding another layer of practicality for everyday portable use.
