Grado SR 325x Headphone
Grado SR 325x Headphone
Open-back headphone designs are often higher-performance but have poor noise isolation and leak sound. Closed-back designs provide better noise isolation and leak less sound.
Over-ear headphones sit over your ear and surround your ear with a ring of padding. On-ear headphones are padded but rest on top of your ear. In-ear monitors are worn inside your ear canal.
Speakers and headphones use a device called a 'driver' to create sound. Different types of drivers have different strengths and weaknesses, but can all produce great sound. Common varieties include dynamic, planar magnetic, and electrostatic.
Some headphones require the power of an amplifier to reach comfortable listening volumes.
Connectivity refers to the method in which the headphones connect to the audio source. Headphones can be either wired or wireless.

Old Grado SR 325e Information Below
Delivering characteristic Grado clarity, energy, and immediacy, the Grado Labs SR325e are lightweight 'on-ear' headphones that will lift you up out of your seat and plant you onstage within the circle of players.
The SR-325e look may be old-school, but the audio performance of these open-back cans is right up to date for listeners seeking a modern audiophile headphone with a brightly present, intensely clear tone. Fabulous synergy with smartphones and tablets.
Regularly rated by a top consumer magazine as the best headphones available, the Grado SR325e is perched at the top of the Grado 'Prestige Series'. The SR325e have a very lively presentation with bright highs and focused vocal midranges riding above a cleanly punchy bass response that offers improved low-end texture versus the original SR325 edition.
The uppermost highs remain extremely finely detailed, which many critical listeners find very musically revealing, if not somewhat forward. Overall, the SR-325e delivers an intricate and dynamic musical presentation that can sometimes veer towards slightly peaky with overly edgy recordings or poor audio sources. So uncompressed or 'lossless' music is definitely a critical key for the best, smoothest sound performance.
The Grado SR 325e are easily driven by smartphones, tablets or laptop computers. If you enjoy the thoroughly galvanizing presentation of Grado's signature 'front row' sound, the SR325e's headphone will offer a brilliant extension of the immersive, exciting musicality on which they've built their well-earned reputation.
The boss aluminum outer grill design on the Grado SR325e earcups is unique to this model and offers some added bling factor. The SR-325e construction is well-engineered with the element drivers matched to .05dB and voice coils made of Grado's proprietary ultra-high purity, long-crystal oxygen-free copper wiring. This recent 'e' update improves the element material quality and a better cord design with sturdier driver housing, resulting in the best audio performance yet for the long-running SR325 model series.
The SR325e continue Grado's venerable tradition of made-in-the-USA quality. The headphones utilize their traditional flexible headband and metal height adjusters connecting the SR325e's shiny aluminum silver earcups to the headband, which allows for up & down sizing adjustment plus full 360 degree earpiece rotation. This feature is ideal for laying the headphones down flat or for storage & traveling.
The upgraded SR-325e headphone cord is a straight but fairly short 6.5-ft length, attaches to both earcups in a 'Y' design, and is made of Grado's own excellent high-definition 'Prestige' proprietary copper audio cabling. The cord is terminated to a 1/8" [3.5 mm] 'mini' plug and includes a large 1/4" stereo plug adapter.
